Nature Watch

This year, my wife and I planted some fruits and vegetables in our garden. It didn’t take long before it turned into a hotspot for rabbits and squirrels. What started as a quick project to figure out what was stealing from us turned into something bigger.

I used it as an excuse to go deeper into computer vision and machine learning, and now I’m building an app that monitors the activity in my backyard.

My dog, Kylo, is the current test subject. I’m training a model from scratch to track his movement and routines throughout the day, with the long-term goal of turning this into a smart backyard monitoring system.
